Rich in eyes, hard in hands
Ms. Nguyen Thi Chung (74 years old) in Nghi Xa commune (Nghi Loc district, Nghe An) lived many years in the darkness because of cataract disease which made her eyes almost blind. To restore light to the eyes, the only method is surgery to replace the lens. However, the salary did not exist, the difficult life depended only on the meager earnings from chickens, fishponds ... causing her to accept such a life day by day.
Luck smiled to her when in the middle of today, she had free surgery on a mobile operating vehicle of Central Eye Hospital. The 30-minute operation helped her to see everything for the first time clearly. The "incomparable feeling" is what Ms. Chung and other cataract patients in Nghe An have to say when their eyes are "lightened again".
